NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane Green Wave volleyball program continues to reshape the landscape of the American Athletic Conference, extending their sensational winning streak to eight matches with a gritty 3–1 victory (25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23) over the Wichita State Shockers on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
With the four-set triumph, Tulane improves to a dominant 12–2 overall and remains unblemished in AAC play at 4–0, marking the program’s best start to a conference slate since 2007. Meanwhile, a resilient Wichita State squad falls to 4–12 overall and 1–3 in the league.
List and Mack Power the Offense
The Green Wave’s high-octane offense was spearheaded by freshman outside hitter Chloe List, who put on a clinic at the net. List terrorized the Shockers’ defense all afternoon, hammering down a career-high 19 kills and accounting for a career-best 21.5 points to go along with 4 crucial blocks.
Complementing List’s clinical execution was Lauryn Mack, who notched a stellar double-double with 16 kills and 17 digs. Mack’s elite two-way performance over the weekend caught the attention of the front office, earning her AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Setter Charlee Solomon was the maestro of the attack, distributing a season-high 51 assists to keep the Wichita State blockers off-balance.
Wichita State refused to go quietly, utilizing a balanced attack led by Maddie Wilson, who finished with a team-high 14 kills, but the Shockers ultimately could not contain Tulane’s late-set surges.
Game Breakdown
Tulane set the tone early in the opening frame, exploiting gaps in the Shockers’ back row to claim a comfortable 25–17 win. Wichita State countered with adjustments in Set 2, capitalising on minor Green Wave errors to steal the frame 25–22 and level the match.
The pivotal third set featured heavy heavyweight trading before Tulane broke away late, riding the hot hands of List and Mack to secure a 25–21 victory and a 2-1 match advantage. Set 4 was a classic conference dogfight, but Solomon’s precise distribution down the stretch allowed the Green Wave to edge the Shockers 25–23, sealing the match and sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
