Ithaca College Athletics Announces Fall Competition Schedules

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College athletic department has released all its schedules for the 13 intercollegiate programs that will begin competition during the fall athletic season. Each are now officially available on each team’s respective schedule page and a composite schedule for the fall season, as well as the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year, is available by following the provided link.

Live results/statistics and video and audio links will be added to each schedule when made available.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Cross country begins its season with the annual Jannette Bonrouhi-Zakiam Memorial Run on September 3 at 11 am and will hit the road for the remainder of the season.

The following Saturday, IC heads to Hamilton College for a short course race and then to the University of Rochester on September 17 for the Yellowjacket Invitational. After a trip to St. Lawrence on September 24, the Bombers will travel to Lehigh for the Paul Short Run on October 1.

IC’s next two tune-ups before championship season take place on October 8 back at Hamilton and then at Rowan for the Inter-Region Border Battle on October 15.

After a weekend off, Ithaca will compete in the Liberty League Championship on October 29 at St. Lawrence. The NCAA Regional ensues on November 12 and the NCAA Division III Championship will be held on November 19 in Lansing, Mich.

FOOTBALL

The Bombers, who are coming off an 8-2 season last fall, will open the 2022 season at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass. on September 3 at 1 pm IC then hosts Brockport on September 10 and Alfred on the 17th before the bye week.

Coming out of the break, the Bombers travel to Hobart on October 1 for their Liberty League opener, and then play Rochester (Oct. 8) and St. Lawrence (Oct. 15) at Butterfield Stadium.

On October 22, the Bombers travel to Buffalo State and then host RPI on October 29. IC’s final road contest is scheduled for November 5 at Union.

The season concludes with the 63rd Cortaca Jug Game at Yankee Stadium on November 12.

MEN’S SOCCER

Men’s soccer will officially kick-off its season on the road in Salem, Va. where the Bombers will square off against Texas Lutheran University (September 3) and then Stockton University (September 4). Both those contests will be played on the campus of Roanoke College. IC will remain on the road at St. John Fisher University (September 9) and then Oswego State comes to South Hill for the home opener at Carp Wood Field on September 11. The Bombers will then play three non-conference home games before opening Liberty League conference action at home against Clarkson University (September 24). After a three-game road swing, IC will host SUNY Cortland (October 9), Skidmore College (October 14) and Union College on Saturday, October 22. Three more games are slated after that before postseason play- October 22 at RPI, October 25 vs. RIT and the regular season finale at Carp Wood Field with the Bombers hosting Vassar College on October 29.

MEN’S ROWING

The men’s rowing program under the direction of first year head coach justin stange will get their season underway on October 8 in Rochester, NY taking part in the Head of the Genesee. The Bombers will then compete at the prestigious Head of the Charles (October 22) in Boston, Mass. and then conclude the fall portion of its schedule on the Cayuga Inlet competing in the Touchdown Regatta on Saturday, November 5.

MEN’S TENNIS

The men’s tennis program is slated to compete in the St. Lawrence University Invitational (September 10-11) and in the very next weekend they compete in the Lions Invitational (September 17-18), which will serve as the final tune up before the Northeast ITA. This year’s tournament will take place at Drew University on September 30-October 2. The spring season will then resume in February.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

FIELD HOCKEY

Field hockey has 17 games on its schedule this season and will look to make another run in the Liberty League Tournament after a 14-5 campaign last fall.

The Bombers open on the road at Geneseo on September 1 and then remain at home on the Higgins Stadium turf for their next three games against St. John Fisher (September 4), Mercy (September 7) and Hartwick (September 10).

IC then hits the road for a pair of non-conference games at Cortland and Brockport September 14 and 20. The Bombers then start Liberty League play against Union on September 24 at home for a 1 pm start. After a non-league contest at Scranton on September 28, IC welcomes Vassar to South Hill on October 1.

Four straight road contests are on the docket next for IC as the Bombers travel to Utica (October 5), RPI (October 8), New Paltz (October 11) and St. Lawrence (October 14).

The regular season wraps up with a home game against Skidmore on October 16, a road matchup at Rochester on October 21 and a pair of home contests against William Smith and Nazareth on October 23 and 26.

GOLF

The golf program has five tournaments scheduled for the fall season. IC gets underway at the St. Lawrence Invitational on September 3-4 at the Oliver Appleton Golf Course.

On September 10-11, the Bombers will head to the Hamilton Invitational at Yahnandasis Golf Club in Clinton, NY IC then travels down to New York City to compete in the NYU invitational on September 17-18 at the Shackamaxon Country Club.

The final road event takes place on September 24-25 at the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club.

Ithaca will conclude the fall with a home invitational on October 1-2 and RaNic Golf Club.

WOMEN’S ROWING

Women’s rowing takes to the water on October 8 at the Head of the Genesee and then heads to Boston, Mass. to compete in the Head of the Charles on October 22-23. The Bombers will return to the Cayuga Inlet where they will race in the Touchdown Regatta on Saturday, November 5. Spring competition begins on April 1 with the Cayuga Duels.

SCULLING

The 2022 sculling season gets underway with the Cayuga Sprints on September 25 on the Inlet. The Bombers will then travel to Vermont on October 2 for the Green Mountain Head and then Rochester on October 8 for the Head of the Genesee. Their season will conclude in Saratoga Springs at the Head of the Fish on Saturday, October 29.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Under the direction of Mindy Quigg who enters her 29th season with the program, women’s soccer will open their 2022 season with a pair of road contests against Elmira College (September 1) and Mount St. Mary (September 4). The Bombers will then compete in the Fredonia Tournament (September 9-10) where they will square off against both Fredonia and Oswego State. IC hosts SUNY Cortland on September 14 for the home opener at Carp Wood Field. A pair of non-conference games at Nazareth (September 17) and vs. St. John Fisher University (September 20) are sandwiched between the Liberty League opener against Clarkson (September 24). IC will then play four-straight home games against William Smith (September 28), St. Lawrence University (October 1), Alfred University (October 5) and then Bard College (October 8). The final home game of the season will be on October 22 against RPI as IC will look to close out the regular season strong with away contests at RIT (October 25) and at Vassar College (October 29).

WOMEN’S TENNIS

The IC women’s tennis team will hit the courts in the fall with three multi-day events lined up. IC opens at the Hosking Invitational hosted by William Smith on September 4-5 and then travels to TCNJ in Ewing, NJ to compete in the Lions Invitational (September 17-18). The Bombers wrap up the fall at the Northeast ITA Tournament, which will take place September 24-26 at Hamilton College. IC will begin the spring season on February 11.

VOLLEYBALL

As what has become tradition for the last several years, volleyball opens the season with the Bomber Invitational (September 2-3) as Gustavus Adolphus, SUNY Geneseo and Swarthmore will all be welcomed to South Hill. The Bombers will then compete in the Juniata Invitational (September 9-10) followed by three road contests before returning to Ben Light Gymnasium against the University of Scranton on September 21. Home matches against RIT (Sept. 28), Union (Oct. 8 ), SUNY Cortland (Oct. 11) are up next on the schedule. IC will have two more single home matches against Vassar (Oct. 21) and Bard (Oct. 22) with the regular season then concluding with an away tri-match with Clarkson University at SUNY Geneseo on October 29. The Liberty League Tournament will take place on November 5-6 and the NCAA Championship gets underway on November 11.
