INDIANOLA, Iowa — The sixth-ranked Indianola Indians left no room for drama on Senior Night, riding a dominant first-half performance to a 38-7 victory over the Sioux City North Stars on Friday night. With the win, Indianola extends its winning streak to six games, keeping its perfect district record intact.
Lightning Fast Start
The Indians set the tone from the opening kickoff. Senior playmaker Parker Amos fielded the ball and raced 92 yards down the sideline for a touchdown, putting Indianola up 7-0 just seconds into the contest. The explosive play ignited the home crowd and immediately put Sioux City North on the defensive.
Balanced Attack Builds Halftime Cushion
Indianola’s offense firing on all cylinders quickly took control of the scrimmage. Quarterback Nolan Freeman spearheaded an efficient passing attack, connecting with George Blake on a 35-yard touchdown strike before finding Max Martinez for a 46-yard score.
The ground game proved equally effective, highlighted by a bruising touchdown run from Daxton Heimbaugh. Combined with a 35-yard field goal from kicker Kian Ruiz, the Indians put together a flawless first half to carry a 31-0 lead into the locker room.
Clock Management and Complete Game Execution
With a comfortable lead established, Indianola utilized its depth in the second half. Amos found the end zone for a second time, capitalizing on a 16-yard jet sweep to extend the margin to 38-0 in the third quarter. The cushion allowed the coaching staff to pull the starters early and give valuable varsity reps to the backup units.
Sioux City North fought until the final whistle, successfully breaking the shutout in the closing minute. Stars quarterback Peyton Casey connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds remaining to finalize the score at 38-7.
Looking Ahead
With the victory, Indianola improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in district play, setting up a highly anticipated regular-season finale next week on the road against Urbandale. Sioux City North drops to 0-8 and will look to salvage their season finale at home.
